At Red2Green we are committed to reducing our waste and helping the environment. Here are some of the things we do to achieve this.

Our sensory garden repurposes old items, for example our wind chimes are made out of old tin cans, and the paint we use has been previously recycled.

We regularly upcycle various pieces of furniture, such as the chest of drawers above

Our Recycling Programmes

Cafe currently closed - Terracycle scheme paused

We are part of some of the free recycling schemes at Terracycle, offering ways to recycle items that are not covered by local council facilities. Specifically, we can recycle:
  • Crisp packets
  • Baby food pouches
  • Flexible packaging for cleaning and dishwashing

Any waste that meets these criteria can be dropped off at the café to be recycled. Please make sure any packages are clean and free from product.

Crisp packets
Any brand of crisp packet is accepted under this programme, but this does not include popcorn or pretzel bags, crisp tubes or meat snack bags.

Flexible cleaning product packaging
Flexible plastic packaging for dishwasher and cleaning products are accepted under this programme, but this does not include:
  • Packaging for laundry detergent
  • Toilet freshener packaging
  • Aerosols
  • Plastic bottles/tubs
  • Dishwasher liquid bottles/rinse aid packaging
  • Fragrance candles, reeds, plug ins, autosprays
  • Soda crystals packaging
  • Washing machine/oven cleaner packaging
  • Cardboard
Please check the packaging for these items, as most of them can be recycled at home.

For more information about what can and can't be recycled under these programmes, visit the Terracycle website.
