For volunteers

Volunteers are at the very heart of Red2Green. Without them we just couldn't deliver our services to our clients. We would love you to get involved, whether you have only an hour to give every now and then, or can make a more regular commitment.

For more on the relationship we like to build with our volunteers, and how your gift of time can benefit the lives of many others, click here.

All our programmes welcome volunteers to get involved. The programmes are outlined below, along with some of the things you can do in them. If you see one that you'd like to get involved in, click on the link to find out more. We look forward to hearing from you.

We have a Volunteering with Red2Green Handbook telling you everything you need to know about sharing your time with us.

Advance

Red2Green's Advance programme works with people who would benefit from support into work or volunteering, either because their skills need updating, they lack confidence or because employers have been unable to see past their disability. If you could volunteer as a mentor, or give one of our learners a work or volunteering taster then please get in touch.

Click here for more information about Advance.

Amber

Amber offers tailored learning and work preparation support for 16 to 24 year olds keen to get into apprenticeships or further education. If you could offer these young adults a work placement or perhaps help with mentoring or coaching, then we'd love to hear from you.

Click here for more information about Amber.

Aspirations

Aspirations is a two-year educational programme for young adults with communication disorders such as Aspergers syndrome. Those who join the courses learn skills and strategies to further their independent living and help them gain jobs. Volunteers are sought to drive our learners to and from lessons, as many are either rurally isolated or their disability means they find public transport difficult.

Click here for more information about Aspirations.

Health for Life

Health for Life gives vulnerable and isolated people the opportunity to take part in local classes and leisure activities to help them regain their health and confidence. Volunteers are needed to accompany clients to courses (there is a mileage allowance). Red2Green may even pay for volunteers to attend the classes too.

Oddjobbers

Red2Green's Oddjobbers project gives real work opportunities to adults with learning disabilities, such as washing cars, mowing lawns, fence repairs, weeding and other garden maintenance. The clients working on Oddjobbers usually come from within Red2Green's own projects, although supporting volunteers are always welcome.

Click here for more information about Oddjobbers.

Options

Options is a day service for adults with learning difficulties, where they can take part in activities ranging from gardening to drumming. Volunteers are sought to support clients in their activities, particularly if you have a musical or artistic talent then we'd love you to come along.

Click here for more information about Options.

Reboot

Reboot trains young adults with social communication disorders to recycle computers, meeting local waste recycling targets while gaining on the job skills. If you know your way around the inside of a computer and can help our trainees troubleshoot hardware problems then please get in touch. Reboot would also welcome volunteers to drive computers to and from customers.

Click here for more information about Reboot.

Red2Greenhouse

Red2Greenhouse is a garden-based project giving work and educational opportunities to adults with disabilities and children at risk of being excluded from school. Volunteers are wanted to work in the gardens alongside our clients.
