Aspirations Outreach Programme
Red2Green is expanding its programme for young people aged 16 - 25 with Asperger's Syndrome or social communication difficulties into the centre of Cambridge.
This project would be for young people on the autistic spectrum of Bangladeshi, Indian, Pakistani and Sri Lankan
origin who live in or around Cambridge and the sessions would take place at the Howard Mallet Centre in Sturton
Street, provisionally timetabled for Thursday mornings, commencing 28th September, 2006.
Initially there would be taster sessions involving various activities such as food, craft, money skills, computing and games and the aim would be to meet individuals' needs on their doorstep. In the longer term it is hoped that these young people would join the Aspirations project based in Swaffham Bulbeck.
The Aspirations programme will provide learning opportunities aimed at reducing isolation, increasing
participation in educational opportunities and moving towards the possibility of supported employment
by considering strategies to help within the workplace.
